Twelve Days of Christmas, one of the most iconic Christmas carols, is known for its twelve delightfully eccentric gifts, each with a whimsical rhyme attached.
We launched this series in 2025 guided by Tessa Chaplin’s expert colour and felt construction genius. This year, we are thrilled to return to this exciting series of original heirloom ornaments created by US-based designer, Larissa Holland.
Sewn by hand and made with wool felt and love, the series consists of twelve patterns creating a total of fifteen ornaments. Larissa’s designs are deliciously intricate and elaborate yet come with instructions that are easy to follow and re-create.
The Twelve Days Ornament Series is aimed at both confident beginners and experienced stitchers alike.
This workshop series is presented as a series of twelve 2½ hour classes on fortnightly Wednesday evenings offering the perfect blend of expert tuition with Tessa during each class and enough time in between sessions to continue re-creating the ornaments at home.
The workshop series culminates in a special celebratory grand finale in early December where we display and show off your heirloom creations for all to admire and enjoy.
Tessa has taught this series multiple times before to more than 100 students and has an in-depth understanding of the creative possibilities and challenges of each of the fifteen ornaments. She has chosen six inspirational colourways aptly named Boughs of Holly, Winter Wonderland, Sleigh Ride, Joy to the World, Reindeer Games, and All is Calm to get you into the Christmas spirit.

Cost: $695 with a 50% non-refundable deposit of $137.50 payable on registration with the remaining 50% payable in-store on Day 1
Price includes 12 classes of tuition, a folder with full colour instructions and pattern sheets for all 15 ornaments, a handy drawstring bag to house your ornaments once completed as well as tea, coffee and biscuits each evening.
A Materials Starter Pack with all the materials you need to get started will be available to purchase in-store on Day 1 for $190, including:
- 12 sheets quality wool felt
- 10 skeins DMC thread
- Needles & floss bobbins
- Painted beads for heads
- Pipe cleaners & stabiliser
Extra felt, thread, fabric glue, and other materials and tools required to complete the ornaments will be available for purchase at The Bobbin Tree.
Please note that this workshop requires a minimum number of participants to proceed. If we don’t reach that number, we’ll let you know at least 7 days prior to the workshop and refund you in full.
