After her recent feature article in Inspirations Magazine issue #129, we’re very excited to welcome textile conservationist Mary Jose at The Bobbin Tree for a textile conservation talk and consultation.
Mary’s textile journey began with studying textile conservation at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, which led to her becoming the first Manager of Textiles at ArtLab in Adelaide before she opened her own business, Fabric of Life, which specialises in the collecting and conservation of textile artworks.
Mary will talk about her conservation practice, share some of her fascinating stories and offer advice and tips on how to store, restore, and take care of heritage textiles and embroidery.
A round table discussion will also be held, where attendees are invited to bring along your own items of textile or embroidered art that you would like advice on how best to preserve.
