‘Basil’ the Cat Knee Rug

My new design is of Basil, our ginger British cat whom was part of our family many years ago. At the time we owned a lovely old property (1854) with a small cottage garden nursery at the bottom of the garden. I sold Devonshire teas on the veranda and in the gardens on weekends. Basil would hide among the plants, especially the pots of grasses and gently tap customers hands as they examined the pots of plants causing them to jump – he never attempted to scratch them. Laughter followed as he then popped his chubby face from behind the plants. I have called this design “Basil’s Garden”.

I have not yet written up the blanket project however I have featured a similar design on three different items – a travelling workstation, a scissor keep and a pin keep!
